PICOSURE FOR FINE WRINKLES / SKIN REJUVENTATION

PicoSure® Focus Lens array for Skin Texture Improvement and Fine Wrinkle Treatment

With the PicoSure® focus lens feature, the laser can effectively improve tone and texture of your skin. If you are experiencing fine lines, the PicoSure® laser is designed to use gentle heat to activate the body’s natural immune response, and stimulating collagen production in the dermis. This collagen production can continue for up to a year after the procedure so results are not immediate. We recommend 5 to 6 PicoSure® skin treatments spaced every two weeks. The laser skin treatment is non-invasive, so there is no downtime. The procedure is a very tolerable treatment, and no numbing cream is required. After the procedure, patients will notice some redness for a few hours.

PicoSure® is the only picosecond laser able to safely and effectively treat pigmented lesions, acne scars, and wrinkles with virtually no downtime. PicoSure® is different than other fractional and ablative lasers which creates considerable discomfort. The heat created by the laser releases certain proteins that causes cells to stimulate collagen and elastin. PicoSure® breaks break down dark pigment into tiny particles that are removed by the body’s immune system.

The GentleMax Pro Plus laser can also stimulate collagen production in the dermis. Because of its dual-wavelength platform, the GentleMax Pro® can effectively treat a variety of common cosmetic concerns, no matter your skin type.

How long does the PicoSure® laser treatment take?

The treatment should take only 15-30 minutes for laser skin rejuvenation treatment

What should I avoid post treatment?
You should avoid direct sunlight. If you are out in the sun, you should wear a broad spectrum sunscreen.

How many treatments will I need to see results?
We recommend 5 to 6 sessions to see results. Results are not immediate as collagen and elastin production takes time.

How long do the results last?
Once collagen and elastin production kicks in, results can last 1 to 2 years. We recommend maintenance treatment every six months to slow down the appearance of wrinkles.

Is there any risk of scarring?

The PicoSure® is a non-ablative laser, creating a very safe procedure, and scarring is very rare, especially for skin rejuvenation.

Is there any down time for this laser skin treatment?

Post treatment you will notice some redness on your skin for a few days, but besides this, there is no downtime like fractional and ablative lasers.

Why is Laser Effective for Skin Rejuvenation?

Laser skin rejuvenation uses the latest laser technology to improve the skin’s appearance and treat minor facial flaws. Skin aging is a natural process that occurs as we age. However, it could be accelerated by such factors as stress, sunlight, and chemicals.

As we age, your skin’s existing collagen and elastin slowly breaks down, and it gets harder for your body to replace it or to produce more. If you have stress or smoke, this process accelerates the aging process.

With sun exposure, different layers of skin with different cells are exposed to the sun’s UV radiation which is a main factor in aging and damaging healthy skin.

Chemicals come in the form of small particles that can accumulate on our skin. Durig our working day we are exposed to airborne chemical pollutants. These chemicals accumulate on our face, and begin to decrease our skin’s collagen, and the protective skin barrier that helps us retain water weakens, which can cause uneven skin tone and wrinkles.

Collagen is a protein responsible for healthy skin elasticity, or stretchiness. Elastin is a protein forming the main constituent of elastic connective tissue, found especially in the dermis of the skin. Both collagen and elastin are the structure of the skin that maintains both elasticity and firmness.

As a result of losing collagen and elastin, and exposure to damaging sun and chemicals, the skin on your face and body begins to lose its skin elasticity, and fine lines, abnormal pigmentation, skin weakness, and telangiectasia also start to appear.

Skin rejuvenation may be classified into two categories: one is the removal of pigmentation and vascular lesions, and the other is the improvement of skin cellular aging.

Laser skin resurfacing has changed the approach of facial skin rejuvenation over the past decade. There are many documents about the widespread use of lasers in skin treatment, especially in skin rejuvenation. With laser skin rejuvenation, the energy from the laser is absorbed by the dermis, the heat that is generated as a result encourages it to start the process of collagen and elastin growth. Our nonablative PicoSure and GentleMax Pro Plus lasers stimulate collagen synthesis and tighten the skin.

Q & A for Skin Rejuvenation

Our non-ablative laser skin rejuvenation treatment is the best treatment that works on dark spots, brown spots, liver spots, age spots, melasma. The treatment offers no downtime and with little risk of damaging or scarring the skin. The laser is attracted to dark pigment and breaks down the pigment into tiny particles where it is flushed out by your immune system.

With laser skin rejuvenation, the energy from the laser is absorbed by the dermis, the heat that is generated as a result encourages it to start the process of collagen and elastin growth. Our non-ablative PicoSure and GentleMax Pro Plus lasers stimulate collagen synthesis and tighten and removing the fine lines on your skin.

There is no downtime for our non-ablative laser skin rejuvenation treatments.  The most common side effects that may come with laser treatment for skin rejuvenation are skin irritation, redness, skin peeling, and swelling.  Pigment will darken for 1-3 weeks following the treatment, then will begin to fade.

Avoid the sun. The American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) recommends wearing a broad-spectrum sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher every day. This protects against approximately 97% of the sun's UV rays.

Laser skin rejuvenation treatments can take years off your age. As you proceed with the laser treatments, each session will increase the collagen and elastin production. The sessions you do can last for a few years but as you fight the aging process, we do recommend a maintenance session once every six months.
