HOW DOES ELITE IQ LASER WORK?
The Elite IQ laser system contains two lasers, a 755 nm Alexandrite laser, and a 1064 nm Nd: YAG laser. The combination of these two wavelengths plus the FDA cleared melanin reader, makes the Elite IQ the best laser for permanent hair reduction.
WHAT IS THE OPTIMAL WAVELENGTH FOR LASER HAIR REMOVAL?
The absorption of melanin corresponds to wavelengths from 400 to 1200 nm. However, the best hair removal laser has wavelengths of 600 to 1100 nm, which is the optimal wavelengths for more selective absorption by melanin and deeper penetration into the skin.
The two wavelengths can treat all skin types for laser hair removal. The Alexandrite is ideal for lighter hair and lighter skin types whereas the YAG laser is ideal for patients with darker skin tones.
The dual wavelengths are ideal for excessive hair growth, especially of the arm pits, face, and bikini lines. It can treat razor bumps (pseudo folliculitis) effectively as well.
2022 LASER HAIR REMOVAL AND BEYOND
A real revolution in the history of laser hair removal happened in 2020 with the launch of Cynosure Elite IQ laser.
With this new SkinTel® technology, practitioners can now accurately measure the skin melanin content, improving treatment test spot settings and identify skin colouration changes during the patients laser treatment.
Also, Cynosure Elite IQ laser is now faster and more efficacious, with a higher energy output for both Alexandrite (+19%) and Nd:YAG (+43%), giving patients a faster, safer, and more effective treatment.
