What is belkyra

What is BELKYRA?
Belkyra is the first and only Health Canada- and FDA-approved injectable treatment that is used in adults to improve the appearance and profile of moderate to severe fat below the chin (submental fat).

Is BELKYRA permanent?
Yes, the effects of Belkyra™ are permanent. When injected, Belkyra™ causes the destruction of fat cells; once destroyed, those cells can no longer store fat. There are no maintenance or up keep treatments or additional injections needed. After the treatments, the results are permanent.

How does BELKYRA work?
An injection of Belkyra breaks down the membranes of the targeted fat cells and causes them to collapse. The collapsed fat cells are then naturally eliminated by your body. Just like with CoolSculpting, the fat cells that are targeted by Belkyra will be permanently reduced

Is BELKYRA right for me?
If you experience mild to moderate skin laxity, then this could be a good treatment for you. However, for patients who have severe laxity or sagging skin under their chin, it’s best to discuss other options with your provider.

What can I expect from BELKYRA?

How Does it Work?

Around 73% of the US population suffer from a double chin, and the same visual defect is also rather common among women and men in Canada. Over time, the double chin lowers causing facial profile dysfunction. Moreover, the problem may persist even if the person diets and exercises.

BELKYRA injections is one of the most potent methods for fighting the double chin, enabling you to improve your chin’s profile without a surgery.

BELKYRA injections dissolve double chin’s fat. Since the double chin is genetically predisposed, fat cells, just like brain cells, do not regenerate after elimination.

BELKYRA injections utilize an active synthetic agent of non-human and non-animal origin, a version of deoxycholic acid – a molecule which can be naturally found in all organisms and encourage nutrition fat-combustion and absorption.

Benefits of Belkyra

  • when compared to laser, radio frequency method and other injections, BELKYRA injections show long-lasting results and can be compared to a plastic surgery,
  • when the desired results are achieved, no additional procedures are required, because as a result of BELKYRA procedures a new collagen can be produced leading to firmer skin,
  • BELKYRA is a scientifically sound procedure – the sole non-surgical injection for the treatment of double chin which has been subjected to rigorous clinical testing to prove its safety and efficiency.

The overall number of procedures depend on the location of the person’s under-chin fat and the desired targets. Visual looks will improve after each injection, and quite often the results can be seen already after two to four procedures. No more than six procedures are allowed and not often than once a month. The eliminated fat after the procedure are naturally expelled out of the body.

Double chin causes:

  • aging,
  • genetics,
  • weight changes.

Are any side-effects possible?

Minor pain, swelling, bruise under the chin, reddening and tingling or itching can occur after the procedure around the injection site. However, these side-effects are temporary and usually occur only after the first procedure.
